Vivienne is a surgeon who graduated from the Università di Roma “La Sapienza” and then validated her certificate at the Universidad de Chile (1986). She has a diploma in Interpretation of Biomedical Literature Results and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the Universidad de la Frontera. She is currently a senior lecturer at the School of Medicine at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH), where she coordinates the teaching of Evidence-Based Medicine. She has carried out health research as a project director for the private sector, following which she has worked as a researcher since 2007. She has founded successful companies throughout her career, primarily devoted to health studies and e-learning for health professionals. In 2000 she founded the Medwave magazine, of which she is currently co-editor in chief, together with Eva Madrid. Vivienne was a member of the COPE COUNCIL (Committee on Publication Ethics) from 2016 to 2019. She is currently a member of the Colegio Médico de Chile, the Asociación de Economía de la Salud de Chile and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
