Juan Víctor Ariel Franco graduated as a physician from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) with a specialisation in Family and Community Medicine and has a Master’s degree in Clinical Effectiveness from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. He is the Director of the Cochrane Centre at the Instituto Universitario of the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires. He is a lecturer in Research Methodology, Family Medicine and Public Health at the Instituto Universitario of the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires and at the Universidad de La Matanza. He is the editor of several scientific journals — Evidencia, Updates in Ambulatory Practice (Fundación MF), BMC Family Practice — and the editor of the Urology Cochrane Review Group, as well as a member of the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) Working Group. He is now a member of the Geographic Group Directors’ (GGD) of the Cochrane collaboration. He has collaborated with researchers from CIESAL on several projects and publications.
