Manuel Vargas graduated as a surgeon specialising in ophthalmology from the Universidad de Valparaíso. He has a Diploma in Medical Education from the Universidad Católica de Chile. He currently works as an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health at the School of Medicine at the University of Valparaíso. Manuel carries out biomedical research in evidence-based health and ophthalmology. He is a researcher at the Centro Interdisciplinario de Estudios en Salud (CIESAL) at the Universidad de Valparaíso and a member of that university’s Cochrane Associate Centre. He is currently leading a research team within the LOVE COVID-19 Working Group, conducting a Living Systematic Review investigating the effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in patients with SARS COV-2.
